Still looking for things to make 2022 productive, entertaining, and an awesome year? Then your search ends here; In this article, I am going to share five simple things you can do in 2022 to make your life better.

I think you probably know most of these things. However, knowing them and understanding their importance/use are two different things.

For instance, A yogi taught me how to meditate by focusing on a point. He told me, “look at the tip of your nose, don’t think about anything, Just concentrate on it and think of it as the most important thing.”

Even though I finally knew how to meditate, I still didn’t do it. On one highly motivated day, I did it and practiced meditation for 5 minutes straight for an entire week.

Result: My ability to focus improved slightly.

However, Slight improvement in my focusing ability improved my productivity exponentially. Before doing it, I couldn’t sit and write for more than 10 minutes straight.

After practicing it for a week, I was writing for more than 30-40 minutes straight without feeling bored. It’s weird but looking at the nose meditation was what I needed at that time, and that yogi taught it to me for free.

Without further delay, here are those five things:

1. Jog (20-30 minutes) For Stress Relief

If you are looking for a new year resolution related to fitness, then this might be the thing you can do for an entire year. Not only jogging consistently is the easiest way to maintain your weight, but it can also help in relieving stress.

(You may have a fitness goal you wish to reach, however, adding more jogging to your current routine may not be a bad choice)

Jogging for 30 minutes/day will help you:

How I utilize jogging for stress-relief: Whenever I face a problem I can’t seem to solve or go around, a problem that is stuck in my mind, making me overthink, I put on my sneakers, and I start running.

I choose one direction (not a destination) and keep running in that direction, changing it however I feel like, I don’t really care where I end up, I don’t carry my phone or a wallet. Just a few bucks in my pocket, That’s it.

You may not get it, but it’s very entertaining, satisfying, and relaxing, I can’t even explain. A weird sense of relief, freedom, openness, awakeness will fill you.

I had some work-related problems, Do you know what I did? I jogged for 3 hours, arriving at my friend’s house in a different town, and spent the night there.

Moreover, I even found the solution to the problem within the first 40 minutes of my jog.

Right now, I am kinda unemployed. So, I get stressed out easily. Jogging is the only thing that is helping me in moving forward.

2. Read For No More Than 30 Minutes

There are a lot of good books out there that can help you in any matter you want. For instance, you want more friends, what should you do? Just read a few books on making friends, and you are good to go.

If you are a reader and like reading, and reading is something you like spending your evening doing, that’s great (Unless that’s all you do after work).

If you are not a reader, It would be wise to schedule a few minutes for reading into your routine. You don’t need to spend hours every day, 30 minutes are enough.

It will make you more knowledgeable, improve your communication skills, and also help you develop and learn new skills.

Task: Read every day for 20-30 minutes

3. Journal Your Feelings, Goals, Relationship

I started journaling in 2019. From 2019-21, I wrote everything that mattered to me. It didn’t help me in breaking negative patterns or making good decisions.

My productivity also didn’t improve because of journaling, and I didn’t become a much more strategic thinker as I expected.

However, it did help me in becoming more aware of myself, my dreams, my needs, my thinking pattern, irrationalities, which did act as a foundation to a large extent for improvement.

So, if you have spare time left every day and you wish to spend it doing something productive, journaling is a good bet.

There is one more thing journaling may help you in: It can help you better understand and learn from past events, breakups, failures, and wins; Since you have a detailed record of how you felt and how certain situations went.

Journaling can also help you in maintaining your relationship and developing gratitude for good things in life.

4. Use Less Youtube, Instagram, Netflix, etc

Even If you are reading, watching something productive, there should still be a limit on how much time you spend in front of a screen. Several studies prove the negative effects of too much screen time.

That’s why one of the best things you can do in 2022 to improve the quality of your life is reduce your overall screen time. You have no idea how productive you can become just by avoiding youtube alone.

Moreover, avoid seeking entertainment online. There are plenty of ways to make your day great; watching Netflix or surfing the internet is not one of them.

5. Clean Your Room/House and Keep It That Way

If you have a pattern of negative behavior and you want to change your life around in 2022, However, you are not sure where to start, then start by cleaning your room, first thing in the morning every day.

This is literally one of the best things you can do. Every day you wake up, and the first thing you do is clean your room or house.

Not only your immediate environment will change, you will also start your day by being productive.

I have watched numerous videos on why cleaning your house/room and keeping it clean makes you productive and helps in breaking patterns of negative behavior, and all of them point out the significance of our environment and our mental health.

Conclusion: 2022 is only 2 days away.

These things are simple: You are keeping your room clean and your mind clear (by reducing your screen time, journaling, reading great books, and jogging every day).

However, these things are also helping you in setting up a perfect atmosphere physically and mentally for breaking negative patterns, developing new habits, and growth.
