My Realistic Morning Routine

Wake up: 6:00 am

6:00 – 9:00 am: Most Important Task of The Day + A Cup of Tea + A Fruit

9:00 – 10:00 am: Workout

10:00 – 11:00 am: Freshen-up + Breakfast

11:00 – 12:00 noon: Meditation + Affirmation + Journalling + Gratitude + Visualization + Planning The Day

I like to use all the surplus energy I have in the morning to be productive. So, I shifted meditation, journalling, affirmations, etc a little bit too far down the road.

In the beginning stages of my self-improvement journey, I used to meditate & do affirmations, etc at the start of the day.

That’s also a good way, but this routine showed more legit results.

Due to workout & work, by the time clock hits twelve, I feel drained. But since I meditate, practice gratitude, visualization, etc near this time, I am able to stay focused through the entire afternoon.

Tip: You don’t need to do meditation, visualization, and gratitude in the morning. You can do it anywhere you want, anytime you want (Make sure you do it in a safe place, don’t do it while driving your car). For instance, you are in the office, and you have a few free minutes rather than spending them to check Instagram, you can meditate, visualize your goal, and practice gratitude.

Now you may be thinking, why would I do that? The only reason: Not only you will refocus yourself in the right direction, you will also lower your stress levels and feel a sense of connection between what you are doing at the moment and your ultimate goal.

How to Know What Habits You Should Include in Your Morning Routine

Before you start adding habits to your morning routine, you need to take into account your unique personality, lifestyle, and circumstances. Here are a few things you need to keep in mind while picking the habits for your morning routine:

1. Your Ultimate Goal With The Morning Routine

What are you trying to accomplish with your morning routine? Are you trying to transform your mental or physical health? Are you trying to become productive, or Are you trying to develop a new habit?

Depending specifically upon what goal you are trying to achieve with your morning routine, make changes in your morning routine.

For instance, I have a bad habit of procrastination. Due to it, my work suffered a lot. I wanted to solve this problem. So, I specifically developed my morning routine to solve this problem.

What I did is I started my day by doing the most important task, the task that produced the most results and I dreaded the most. Within the first week, I achieved results I couldn’t in a whole year.

Moreover, make sure your routine is result oriented. If you are trying to improve your mental health with your morning routine, then if you don’t feel any difference within a few weeks, make changes to your routine.

2. Only Add Habits That are Utmost Important

Don’t try to do everything. Let things that don’t matter truly slide.

Just because someone else is doing it doesn’t mean you need to do it.

Just do what is necessary. A lot of people like to read in the morning. You don’t need to do this in the morning unless you have to. Yes, it would be beneficial if you do this, but it would be better if you focus on things that can produce more results.

Moreover, don’t complicate things unnecessarily. Don’t fill your morning with unnecessary tasks. Be honest with yourself and only do what is necessary.

3. Things You Should Include in Your Morning Routine For a Productive, Healthy, Happy Day

These things can take a lot of time. So, don’t do them if you have limited time.

I will show you how you can do each of these things in under 10 minutes (Apart from the Most Important Task of Your Day)

Meditation: You don’t need to meditate for hours to get results. A 10-minute session will also yield enough results, only if you know how to do it properly. Here’s an article on How to Meditate and Transcendental Meditation.

Physical training: Several studies suggest that even a 10-minute workout is enough to boost your mental and physical health. Moreover, if you are a beginner starting with a 10-minute workout is a great way to develop the discipline and consistency you need for growth.

Here’s a 10-minute workout routine you can use:

Use heavy weight and push yourself to perform as many reps as you can.

You need to perform this workout in one go. Moreover, you can’t take rest for more than 30 seconds. You can get jump rope and dumbbells from amazon.

If you are trying to lose weight, try the keto diet. Here’s an article on how to start the keto diet and a custom keto diet meal plan you can use.

Most Important Task of The Day: If you are trying to be more productive, do the most important task of your day first thing in the morning.

Gratitude: If you have never practiced gratitude before, you may not realize the power it holds. Just think about three things you feel thankful to the gods or universe for. Do it for a week, and you will feel the difference.

Visualization: Think about the three goals you are trying to achieve. Now think about how your life will change and what you will do when you reach these goals. Think about how you will handle your changed life, what types of problems you will face and how you will solve them once you reach your goal.

Best Way to Execute The Morning Routine

Follow these two tips to execute the morning routine perfectly:

1. Do Things in the Order You Decided

Do things in the order you mentioned in your routine. Don’t make changes in your routine in the morning. If you need to make changes make them at night or when you are free. If you make changes in your routine when you need to execute it, you are only going to confuse & distract yourself and waste your entire day.

2. Avoid Productivity Destroyers

Don’t use your phone for entertainment for the first few hours. No entertainment means not even checking notifications unless are related to work.

Most people think checking notifications is not going to make any difference, however, you can’t be further from the truth. Think of it in this way: If you are distracted by temptation so small as a notification, you will get distracted by other things too, and you will most likely be defeated by the resistance/fear created by your most difficult task.

Conclusion

If you make a routine for yourself and you know it’s good for you, however, due to procrastination or other bad habits you are unable to execute it properly, and you are wondering what you should do, do this: Make your routine a little bit easier to execute and stick to it. This way, you will develop the discipline you need to execute your routine properly while breaking bad habits.
